Austin Cruz is a Social Sciences Researcher for the Iniciativa Osa y Golfito (INOGO) at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. He is a Co-coordinator and Co-teacher for the Stanford Environmental Leadership and Language (SELAL) program and manages INOGO communication. 

Austin received his Master’s in Latin American Studies from Stanford University. Prior to attending Stanford, he lived and traveled throughout South America and Spain. He is bilingual in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, and his academic and professional interests include rural community sustainable development, environmental education, Neotropical flora, and plant systematics.
